We share this article which goes through 7 reasons why to start a business while being at Uni.
The most powerful ones are obviously that as a student the risks are lower. Students have relatively little to lose: no career, no high-paid job, no family responsibility… They also have a lot to win, in case their idea is successful.
Students have access to many “free” resources. These will help them test and develop their idea. They could be:
1. mentoring support from teachers, experts and professionals, as well as alumni networks,
2. technical resources like computer, laboratory and other fancy equipment, and
3. other students who can turn into amazing co-founders as well as serve as guinea pigs for new products
But why wait until you are at Uni?
At Biz4Teens, we argue that in fact teenagers should not wait to be at Uni to have their first try at entrepreneurship. We advocate the “try fast, learn fast” approach!
We have developed an innovative programme to allow teenagers to get a first hands-on experience at developing a business idea from as early as 13. Indeed we believe that with appropriate guidance and support, young teens are able to do business and to learn the basics fast.
